Kia has released all the details about its first electric, three-e-row seat SUV - the Kia EV9. This car brings innovative design and technology and is a clear indication that Kia is transitioning into providing eco-friendly solutions for transportation in an increasingly electrified world.

Design: reshaping the SUV user experience for millennial families

The EV9 offers an unprecedented balance of natural and modern components, thanks to its 'Bold for Nature' design concept. This innovative approach has been instrumental in creating a truly unique all-electric SUV.

The Kia EV9 gives off an aura of modern tranquility which is perfect for a sophisticated electric car that is to be part of the new era of sustainable transportation. It has a wheelbase measuring 3,100 mm and has three sizes available -- 21-inch, 20-inch, or 19-inch. The vehicle's overall measures 5,010 mm long by 1,980 wide and 1,755 tall creating an eye-catching look while still expressing its personality clearly.

The EV9 conveys confidence, clarity, and tranquillity through its precise lines and surfaces. Its unique identification is intensified by the 'Digital Tiger Face'5 with the 'Digital Pattern Lighting Grille' and vertical headlamps to give it a progressive look. The Digital Tiger Face has two groups of small cube lights near each headlight. Kia's Star Map LED daytime running lamps (DRLs) are designed in an elegant animated lighting pattern that symbolizes their Digital Tiger Face for upcoming electric models as well as delivering new illuminating experiences.

Kia has released the new GT-line model design, which offers a uniquely bold and stylish look compared to its standard version. The front and rear bumpers, wheels, with roof rack, have all been adjusted with an exclusive black color pattern that makes it stand out in terms of aesthetics. Featuring a 'Digital Pattern Lighting Grille' for extra dynamism and sophistication, this edition is to make quite the statement wherever you drive it!

Sustainability: setting new standards for responsible mobility

Kia has taken a proactive stance toward sustainable mobility, with the EV9 setting new standards for eco-friendly materials and its three-step Design Sustainability Strategy. The strategy includes phasing out leather from Kia models, also introducing ten 'must-have' sustainable items to every model. 

Electric drivetrain: full range of multiple zero-emission mobility solutions

The EV9 offers a wide array of electric powertrain choices, designed around Kia's innovative Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and the latest fourth-generation battery technology. A 76.1 kWh battery is only available with the standard Rear Wheel Drive model while a 99.8 kWh battery powers both RWD Long Range and All Wheel Drive variants. Depending on your choice, preliminary data reveals that acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 9.4 seconds in the RWD Long Range or 8.2 seconds for its Standard counterpart -- each powered by a single yet powerful electrical motor ranging from 150 kW / 350 Nm up to 160 kW / 350 Nm respectively.
